COMMUNICATION, COGNITION Contest 2006 - 2007
in Kolkata and the neighbouring districts of North & South 24 Pargannas, Howrah.

Each of these companies/ brands supporting the contest have a varying role to play in execution of the contest.

Actual contest period : December 2006 - April 2007
Objective :
Contest Concept :
Each participant will be given a pre-printed sheet of paper (size: 10” width x 15” height).
It will have 12 bullet marks with 2 lines drawn against each bullet mark.
One single sentence will have to be written against each bullet mark.
The paper will also have a space (approx 30 sq inches) for a sketch/ drawing.
Multiple choice (approx 6 – 8) of topics for comprehension will be provided to the participants.
5 – 7 days of preparation time will be given to the participants Class Groups 3 – 5 and 6 – 8 (as on August 2006.
The entire presentation will have to be written in 12 sentences (nothing more or less) + one sketch/ drawing to substantiate the written idea.
A participant will complete the presentation sheet (comprising of a comprehension + one sketch/ drawing to substantiate his or her idea) sitting at school within a maximum time frame of 1 hour 30 minutes.
Terms and conditions :
Participating schools will have to give me an ‘intention of participation’ in writing on the school letterhead.
Schools are required to depute 1 – 3 individuals with whom the organizers can co-ordinate matters related to the contest.
Posters and banners of supporting companies announcing the contest will be put up at strategic locations in participating schools.
Participating number of teams (minimum requirement): For the championship, each of these schools have to nominate a minimum of 50 individual participants (with no limit on the maximum number of participants) from each of the Class Groups 3 – 5 and 6 – 8 (as on August 2006). This implies that a minimum of 100 individual participants will have to participate from each school.
Participants' identity: A participation form has to be filled up by each participating team member.
Venue: The championship will be held at the school premises.
Date(s): The date(s) for the contest will be decided by the school authorities. Schools are at liberty to carry out the contest at their premises spread over one or more days. However, the dates must be communicated to us in advance.
Topics: A choice of 6 – 8 Comprehension presentation / Drawing topics will be given by us approx 5 – 7 before the date of the contest in school enabling students to prepare themselves. Participants will have the liberty to choose any 1 topic and make a presentation.
Stationary: Students will have to bring their own writing, drawing, colouring material from home. However, the writing/ drawing sheets will be provided by us.
The actual presentation comprising of 12 sentences (nothing more or less) + one sketch/ drawing will have to be made at the school in a maximum timeframe of 1hr 30minutes.
Presentations exceeding 12 sentences will be disqualified.
The look, feel, content and creativity will be the most important judging criterion.
Judging process :
The Intra-School winners: 5 participants from the class group 3 – 5 (Junior) AND 5 participants from the class group 6 – 8 (Senior) will be selected/ judged and ranked by the participating schools themselves.
These 10 winners will be termed as the Intra-School Contest winners.
These 10 presentations from each school will be sent for an overall judging process to select the Inter-School Contest winners.
All comprehension presentations will be collected from the schools.
All such comprehension presentations/ sketch/ drawings will eventually be owned by the organizers and can be used by them as a promotional tool.
The Inter-School winners: Will be judged by a distinguished panel to be nominated by me.
The decision of the judges will be final and binding and no communication in this regard will be entertained.
Results :
Final results will be announced in March 2007.
It will be available for viewing in www.marketingpundit.com.
Gifts, trophies, certificates will be awarded to a large number of participants.
These will be handed over at the respective schools in March – April 2007.
